Red frog beach

We weren't sure if we wanted to do another beach day but everyone had said that red frog beach was great so we decided to check it out. We had made breakfast at the hostel so we went to the kosher deli at the edge of town to pick up some sandwiches to take with us to the beach. The kosher deli/grocery store is amazing. They have everything you'd ever want and it is so clean and air conditioned. It is a little pricy though, but I guess that makes sense; you get what you pay for. Our sandwiches cost $6 but were each on their own little fresh baked baguette and had tons of fresh veggies- worth it. We had found a water taxi that was a little cheaper than the others in town ($7 vs $10) and so we took the 20 minute boat ride to red frog.
Once we arrived, we found there was a $3 park entrance fee, which made me wonder if that's why our boat ride had been $3 cheaper; Panama seems to be one constant scam. There was a bit of a walk to the beach and there were no signs telling us which way to go, so we pretty much just winged it and luckily the sound of the waves pointed us in the right direction. This beach was much prettier than Bocas del Drago and clearly more developed. There was a restaurant at the beach and you could rent a lounge chair with cabana. We settled in under some trees and lay out relaxing.
We take turns swimming so that our stuff is never left unprotected on the beach. We don't usually bring much that could be stolen but now that we only have one camera, we don't take chances with it. There were tons of local people selling things on the beach and often when they thought we were asleep they would basically stand above us, making me believe that if I didn't move, they would try to take something. It was a little unsettling, but for the most part the beach was lovely and we had a very relaxing day just hanging out.
We headed back to Bocas and decided to hit up on of the local happy hours. All of the restaurants look out onto the water, so there's usually not a bad seat in the house. I am still trying to acclimate myself back to tequila so I had a margarita and a tequila sunrise. I'm pretty sure there was no alcohol in them which is why I had no problem drinking them.
Neither of us we hungry so we went back to the hotel and showered. Alyssa has an obsession with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and already had everything to make them, so that's what we had for dinner. It had to be an early night for us because we needed to be up at 5:30am to get packed and ready for our boat/taxi/bus ride to Panama City the next morning.
